Calling all BB history buffs, your help would be much appreciated!
I'm creating a glossary of the most legendary bodybuilders from the Silver Era up until the Golden Era (so up until the early 90s - Yates is the most recent name I've used) in alphabetical order of course, depending on the first letter of either their first name or last name.
Example: A for Arnold, or H for Lee Haney. Both work.
The 3 letters that I'm missing are: Q, U, X.
I'd really appreciate some of your thoughts and suggestions!

I’m a beginner and I have this issue where it’s harder to control the left side of the body (arms and legs) as opposed to the right side. What’s a good way to get rid of this if anyone has had this happen ??
I'm new to this and starting on my own journey, and really researching the old classic physique. I found a pic of this dude years ago and can't remember where and don't know his name and am trying to do research on these old folks so I know more about the history and techniques for what made them successful. If it's super obvious and someone I should know, go easy on me. Does anybody know who this dude is?

For as long as she can remember, Cydney Gillon has been fast. “We had this school race called the Turkey Trot,” she recalls. “And I won it every single year until I broke my ankle one year—all the way from kindergarten through fifth grade.”
But that’s just kid stuff, right? Not exactly. Since those early days in the Atlanta suburb of Douglasville, GA, Gillon has made a habit of arriving ahead of schedule. She did her first bodybuilding show at 14, cracked the UPenn track team at 18, reached the final four of Survivor: Kaôh Rōng at 23, and in 2017 became the youngest-ever Figure Olympia champ at 25.
We’re sensing a trend here.
Just because her rise has been speedy, though, doesn’t mean it hasn’t been interesting. Take, for example, how she got into bodybuilding in the first place. When Gillon was 5, her parents were not exactly fit. Dad Skip was pushing 400 pounds, while Mom Tangelea was more than 200. “And you know how kids have no filter?” Gillon says.
“I was like, ‘Mom, y’all are fat!’” That wake-up call kicked off a spectacular turnaround that saw both her parents become competitive bodybuilders.
Then they flipped the script on their loud-mouthed daughter when the “junk food junkie” developed high cholesterol at 12. Mom corralled her diet, and Gillon started working out, discovered her genetics were figure-friendly...and never looked back.
Things got tricky in college—the high school track star had to give up the 300-meter hurdles event and focus on 100-meter hurdles “because it fits more of a figure body type”—but Gillon’s passion for competition only grew. Which is how, a week after her first Arnold, she found herself marooned on a Cambodian island. “The most surprising thing about Survivor is how real it is,” she confesses. “Man, when I’m sitting out there with all these bug bites, sunburned and starving, I’m like, ‘Where’s the hotel?’ I was in shock for a week.”
But in case you hadn’t noticed, Gillon—who had never camped and couldn’t even swim when taping started—adapts quickly. She lasted 37 days, becoming a fan favorite who still gets recognized in public.
And while she may not have been the “Sole Survivor,” she stands alone in figure. After top-10 Olympia finishes in 2014 and 2015, Gillon hired Damian Segovia of Pro Physiques in Arizona as her coach and really hit the gas, placing third in 2016 before winning in back-to-back years.
Oh, and would-be challengers take note: This speed queen has no plans to slow down. “I’ve never felt as if I wanted to stop or take breaks,” she says. “Each show just lights a new fire, so I’m always looking to get better. That keeps me motivated, in the moment, and ready for the next goal.”
Considering Gillon’s track record, we’re betting she’ll get there in a hurry.
TRAINING SPLIT*
* Gillon mixes in ab work three times a week but doesn’t specifically train arms, because hers are naturally “supermuscular” and keep their shape through her other workouts.

How this works:
One nomination per comment. Comments with more than one nomination will be removed.
To nominate: Make a comment under the appropriate category with a link to your nomination. Nominations without links will be removed. Nominations must be from 2018. Nominations not in its appropriate category will be removed. If two nominations within the same category are the exact same, the one with fewer votes will be removed and not considered. Example image.
To vote: Upvote and downvote comments within each category.
Winners will be announced in January. They will get 2x Platinum Reddit (2 months of premium reddit and 1400 Coins), a Best Of 2018 flair, and a shoutout in a thread on this sub and on the bestof2018 sub.
Top-level comments to this post itself will be removed. Top-level non-nomination comments to the categories will be removed.
If you see a comment that isn't where it should be, please report it. This whole thing needs to be ORGANIZED.

Just wondering, since i have heard it adds height aswell
Not trying to compete, just want to look better. Is unilateral work that important for stuff like biceps, triceps, forearms, calves etc.? Am I going to end up with noticeably different sizes?
Or can I just do everything both sides the same time?

By selecting the best exercises to build maximal strength and size, while limiting unnecessary stress and risk of injury, you can build a bulletproof body that will perform as well as it looks. Unlike ‘pre-hab’ exercises which are often used as assistance exercises to help prevent injuries, a ‘joint-friendly’ approach deals with how to better select your heavy lifts. In this article, you will learn why selecting the right exercises is the key to you training longer and harder.

It happens to all of us. One day, you catch yourself in the mirror or glance at a recent picture taken and it kind of hits you. ”Is that me?” You notice that you have a few wrinkles. Or maybe a little extra around the middle. That, or some specks of gray in your hair. For many, it happens somewhere around 40 or 50. If you’re lucky, 55.
When I see pictures of classic bodybuilders in the 70s like arnold or frank zane it seeems like the tan color is much more similar to the original skin tone, and it looks much more aesthetic than today's tanning where white guys look like they are black (or worse, orange). I know that it is supposed to display all the striations and muscle separation better, but I don't really see a difference between old and new pictures.

Trying to get my head around how lifting weights is good for fat burning. Any help appreciated
I was reading Flex Magazine’s Huge and realized they have no mention of steroid use. I know it would be possibly illegal to promote it. However they even talked about plateauing and all the photo notes give the impression you can get as big as Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman with exercise alone. I don’t know how I feel about it. So how do you guys feel about it?

Hello
I started my training 2 years ago, I have not done it continously since I left the gym for a few months sometimes but as of right now, I have been training continously for 2 months.
Many friends say that my back looks kinda big when wearing t-shirts and walking normally. But I have this problem with my lats, specially when I try to show them with a lat spread.
As you can see (https://imgur.com/a/VhLliZl) the picture from the back looks okay, at least for me. But when I try a picture from the front(https://imgur.com/a/v5Q0I3Y) I just get this holes or dimples in my lats, which look like my lats weren't connected with my armpit or with the teres major/minor(I know the picture from the front isn't a lat spread but the result is very similar).
At first I though my muscles weren't big enough, but during this 2 years I have tried almost every lat exercise and still no results. I was checking if other ppl had this problem but look at this guy(https://imgur.com/a/VXi39VF). The guy hasn't got huge lats, in fact he is kinda skinny, but you can still see the lats insert all the way up, leaving no dimples/holes
I don't really know what is the actual problem, and I don't know how to solve it, anyone help!!!

I would have to say cannonball delts. I’ll take golden era physiques over modern day pros any day of the week. But modern day pros have insanely nice shoulders. I’ve heard people on this sub say they don’t like overdeveloped delts. Even though symmetry is important, I’d have to say imo delts are the best looking muscle to have overdeveloped.
