There are so many people on ig peddling this practice while every competitor I've talked to in real life hasn't even heard of or thinks that it's pointless. And really, what's the point of putting yourself through so much pain for the purpose of relieving soreness or breaking down scar tissue? Just stretch and carry on.
It just seems like every lifter in the past century has gotten along just fine without this and only now are people spreading it like it's the magical serum to painless and smooth training.
