Protein intake Question! How much can the body process in a meal?

Just put up a pic on FB of a meal i was eating that had 100 g of protein. Friend says you cannot process that much in a single sitting. I have always heard that protein timing does not matter so much as long as the quota has been met, but I would like some more science to back up these claims! I read some articles that said 30g was the maxiumum effective dose for muscle building per meal alluding to more meals throughout the day is more optimal. What do you think?
